Dr. Terence D. Swims
Chief Operating Officer
As a career educator, Dr. Terence D. Swims leverages his wealth of experience and passion for people and education to create equitable systems and pathways, especially for those who have been marginalized and systematically disenfranchised.

Dr. Swims illustrates commitment to social change through his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership. With nearly 15 years of teaching experience and a background as a school administrator, he has earned several certifications, including becoming a Certified Behavior Health Interventionist & Family Coach with over 100 hours of clinical studies. As an Educational and Business Consultant, Dr. Swims has empowered entrepreneurs to develop established corporations and become transformative leaders. He has successfully secured over 500k in funding & partnerships from grant writing & pitch proposals and continues to excel in both the education field and the corporate and nonprofit sectors.
With a background in the arts, Dr. Swims is also an international Gospel Recording Artist and has performed as a soloist and with the Wartburg College choir in several countries. Additionally, he serves as a worship leader and youth pastor at his home church. He treasures his family life as the husband to his best friend turned wife of 10 years and father to his three children and host of God-children.
Dr. Swims is deeply committed to the mission and vision of One For One Chicago. He serves with passion and expertise to advance our operations, with a focus on expanding our reach to have the strongest impact on the people and communities we serve.
Meghan Olson
Founder/Executive Director
Meghan is honored to be the director of One for One, a place where every child has a voice and a safe environment in which to thrive. Meghan’s personal experience —and the support she received at the kind hand of others—inspires her every day to pay it forward and make a difference in the lives of children and their families.

Meghan Olson, the Chicago founder and executive director of One for One, has spent her career dedicated to supporting, nurturing and advocating for underserved children and families by addressing the root causes of violence. She takes an immersive approach to developing programming that puts the child at the center and works to remove barriers that impede their success.
Meghan is also a community relationship builder who partners with leaders and organizations across the City to help families thrive. This work has included serving on the Community Renewal Society’s state advocacy task force to improve family access to incarcerated loved ones, the Women’s Committee led by Illinois Senator and Majority Leader Kimberly A. Lightford to provide community-based wellness programs for women and children, the Advisory Board for the Governor’s Office for Juvenile Justice and graduating from the Goldin Institute’s Chicago Peace Fellows Program. Meghan also graduated from Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses Program, a premier national small-business training and networking curriculum.
Gina Doctor Boals
Communications Director
Gina is proud to sit on the board of One For One, where for the past several years she has been focused on bringing her strengths in marketing communications and PR to the organization. Constantly inspired by the youth involved in the program, Gina is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of and help share their stories with the Chicago community and beyond.
Carol Williams
Agricultural Curriculum Director
An agricultural science educator in the Chicago Public School system for 23 years, Carol. Williams recently retired from Marshall High School in Garfield Park.

Originally from South Carolina, Ms. Williams came to the Chicago area to attend the University of Illinois as a young woman and ended up staying and starting her family and career on the West Side of Chicago. A firm believer in giving back to the community where she developed and succeeded, Ms. Williams has been a role model and mentor to young people in the community her entire career. Over the past few years, she has partnered and worked closely with One For One Chicago, and we are grateful to have such an invested and experienced leader to help drive positive outcomes for our teens.

Sherri Mariani
Board President
Sherri has seen the evolution of One For One since its inception and is thrilled to sit on the board. After working for many years in the travel industry, Sherri is happy to help open the world to the youth of Chicago and is inspired by the growth of our future leaders.
Darnell Martin
Board Member
Darnell is a healthcare sales executive, with his career being spread across the medical device, biotech and healthcare software sectors. Darnell currently is VP of Business Development and Strategy for a leading healthcare software venture capital firm. Darnell has been on the One For One board for over 10 years now. His primary focus has been outreach, fundraising and career exploration for the kids. Darnell attended the University of Kansas and loves rooting on his Jayhawks during March.
Maurissa Kanter
Board Member
Maurissa is a communications leader with extensive experience in strategic planning, executive positioning, internal and external communications and media relations. She is proud to leverage her communications expertise to amplify One for One’s story and the great work it does to help support children within the Chicago community.
Brian Olson
Board Member
Brian has sat on One For One board since its inception. He has a deep, strong belief that nurturing the growth of the foundation will positively impact the children in Chicago’s underserved communities and strengthen the fiber of the city he loves so much. He is forever grateful to be a part of such a wonderful organization and inspired by the will and persistence of the incredible children he is so fortunate to have met through the program.
Sabrina C. Spitznagle
Board Member
Sabrina has volunteered with One for One in the past, and she is incredibly excited and grateful to now serve on the Board as Secretary. She looks forward to assisting with the amazing work One for One does to support children within the Chicago community, as she is passionate about supporting and advocating for underserved children and families. Most recently, Sabrina was the President of Friends of Lincoln Park High School, where she worked to improve the educational and cultural opportunities for all students at LPHS through fundraising, volunteering, and organizing community building events. In addition to her volunteer work, Sabrina has worked for many years as a legal recruiter and founded her own company in 2017. Prior to beginning her legal recruiting career, Sabrina was a labor and employment attorney at a large law firm.
