Financial Literacy Workshop

Our 2019 workshop series kicked off with a trip downtown to the loop and a visit at Chartwell Financial, a mid-level financial advisory firm. The team at Chartwell invited the kids for an afternoon of learning about everything from opening a bank account to investing in a future college education to saving and becoming more financially savvy with their spending choices.

Guest speaker and real estate developer Bill Williams, shared his personal story with the kids. Having grown up in Garfield Park amongst challenging circumstances, his message of survival and hope resonated with us all.

We closed the day out with an ice cream social…and Chartwell presented us with a generous $5,000 donation. Thanks to the Chartwell team for a great day!
