Upcoming Arts Workshop Sponsored By CBS!
One For One Partners With CBS Television For Upcoming 2-Day Workshop
‘The Good Fight Gives Back’
We are honored to have been selected by CBS as their non-profit partner for this exciting and meaningful endeavor!
With funding for the arts being continually cut, there has never been a more important time to support the creative development of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The good folks at CBS Television’s ‘The Good Fight’ have been inspired by and draw from the narratives of Chicago in their show and are interested in giving back to the city that has given them so much.
On May 25-26th, 25 One For One participants ages 15-17 will be a part of a two-day workshop that will provide exciting and educational insight into the way TV is made. ‘The Good Fight’ is a female led show set in an African American law firm. This project will be facilitated by the actual actors and production crew from ‘The Good Fight’ and CBS family and all have agreed to give their time for free.
The aim of the workshop weekend is to give the participants access to this unique experience and expose them to this area of the arts by building confidence, improving teamwork, expressing themselves as individuals and fostering a belief that what they have to say is important and that what they want to say can be channeled positively.
On the first day the participants will work in small groups covering:
Acting
Script, Casting and Direction
Camera, Sound and Light
Hair and Make Up
Wardrobe
On the second day the participants will take what they’ve learned and collectively shoot one small scene given to us by Robert and Michelle King, creators of ‘The Good Fight’ effectively becoming a miniature crew!
Stay tuned for more exciting details!
